Northside Medical Campus Leader Joins MARTA Board

Freda Hardage is the current president of The Drake House.

Freda B. Hardage joins the MARTA board after her appointment by Commissioner Liz Hausmann and the rest of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 20.

Hausmann nominated Ms. Hardage for the appointment.

Ms. Hardage is a healthcare executive and registered nurse who has more than 30 years of multidisciplinary experience in progressive health systems. She serves as the director of the Alpharetta Medical Campus for Northside Hospital. She is also the 2014 chairman of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

“I look forward to working with the other MARTA board members and exploring opportunities to increase ridership,” stated Ms. Hardage in response to the appointment.

“We are pleased to have appointed a representative of such high standing on the MARTA Board”, said Hausmann. “Freda’s involvement in the North Fulton community in both leadership positions and non-profit agencies has established her stellar reputation which will be a great asset to the MARTA Board."

Ms. Hardage has extensive leadership experience in the community including serving in the following organizations:

  • Johns Creek Beautification Board of Directors,
  • Windward Rotary (now known as Milton-Windward Rotary),
  • United Way North Fulton Council,
  • Drake House (Current President, Board of Directors),
  • Local School Advisory Council (State Bridge Crossing Elementary),
  • Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce (Board of Directors),
  • American Cancer Society Atlanta Leadership Council,
  • YMCA Camp High Harbour (Board Member),
  • and the Dawson County Chamber Board of Directors.

She has also been recognized with numerous awards including: Rotarian of the Year (Windward Rotary), YMCA High Harbour Board Member of the Year, Phenomenal Woman of North Fulton, Board Member of the Year (North Fulton Chamber of Commerce) and Johns Creek Community Association Board Member of the Year.

Ms. Hardage is married to Mark Hardage and has two children, Kelle and Cody.
