Price To Face A Democrat From Roswell or Alpharetta

Congressman Tom Price, a Republican from Roswell, is certain to face a Democratic challenger in the November General Election–but apparently he won't have an opponent in the Republican Primary July 31.

Price, the incumbent Sixth Congressional District U.S. Representative, filed for to keep his post on Wednesday, May 25. Robert Montigel, an Alpharetta small business owner, and Jeff Kazanow, a Roswell business consultant, qualified on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.

The filing deadline was at noon on Friday, May 25, so these may be the final qualifiers for U.S. Congress and the Georgia General Assembly.

A Democrat threw his hat into the ring for the state Senate District 56 seat, guaranteeing a challenge for the Republican nominee. With only the incumbent, John Albers, having qualified for the Republican primary, he appears headed for a general election battle with Akhtar Sadiq, a Democrat from Roswell.

Qualifying ended at noon on Friday, May 25. The following are candidates who have qualified for the Juy 31 primary, according to the Georgia Secretary of State's office:
