Proposed Bed & Breakfast Will Get Roswell Scrutiny

The Roswell City Council will consider a request to rezone property on Woodstock road to accommodate a proposed bed and breakfast.

The Roswell City Council is set to consider approval a rezoning request to accommodate a proposed bed and breakfast on Woodstock Road during its meeting tonight.

Resident John Wilson is asking the council to allow him to rezone the property of the home he's occupied for more than 10 years from R-1 single family residential to C-2 neighborhood commercial.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Roswell City Hall. The meeting will precede a work session slated to start at 5:30 p.m.

The property is .994 acres and contains a single story brick house that's just over 5,000-square-feet. Along with the proposed zoning request, the applicant wants a conditional use permit to operate the proposed business and two variances that deal with setbacks and buffers.

Roswell city staff recommended the city deny the applicant's rezoning request, and its conditional use permits and variance requests.

However, the Roswell Planning Commission during its June 18 meeting recommended approval to rezone the property to office-professional, and recommended the city approve the conditional use permit and the variance requests.
