Roswell City Council Approves Sidewalk, Wireless Monopine

A new sidewalk will be built on Old Roswell Road and a wireless monopine will be constructed on Swaybranch Drive.

Roswell city leaders approved a contract with a company to build a sidewalk along Old Roswell Road during its meeting on Monday.

The City Council approved awarding a bid and signing a construction contract with PE Structures and Associates, LLC for $105,481.01. 

The company was the lowest bidder for the project.

The city received 15 bids ranging between $88,357.55 to $217,824.80 and four were either rejected or disqualified.

The project will build a sidewalk to close a cap at a culvert on the west side of Old Roswell Road, about 500 feet north of Commerce Parkway.

The Council also: 

  • approved signing a contract with Center Brothers, Inc. to replace the bocce ball courts at the Adult Recreation Center in the amount of $30,000
  • voted 5-1, with council member Rich Dippolito opposed, to approve a request from Tower Com V. LLC to build a wireless communication facility for a 150’ monopine at 10185 Swaybranch Drive.
  • approved installing 14 trees as part of the Hembree Road Multi-Use Path project in an amount not to exceed $4,600; 
  • approved a resolution and notice to intend to sell bonds in the amount of $10 million. The bonds will fund a new fire station, expand the current Adult Recreation Center build synthetic turf fields and fund other transportation projects.
