Roswell Finalizes Pedicab Approval, Holds Off on Mobile Food Vendors

The mobile food vendor ordinance text amendment will come back to the Roswell City Council for final approval March 12.

Roswell City Council approved a second reading of an ordinance Monday night that allows pedicabs to, but they held off on okaying mobile food vendors for now.

  • The streets permitted to allow pedicab useage include Canton Street, Mimosa Boulevard, Oak Street and Oxbo Road, among others. 
  • Although council passed a first reading of the ordinance text amendment during the Feb. 13 meeting, they pulled back on allowing mobile food vendors within the city just yet.

The amendment will now go back to committee for review and a few revisions, said city Spokeswoman Julie Brechbill. It will come back for final council approval during the March 12 meeting.

If passed, mobile food vendors will be able to operate within Roswell once they're fully licensed by .

  • Two public meetings on the prospective will be held March 19 at 12 noon and again at 5 p.m. in . Roswell Public Works Director Stu Moring told Roswell Patch city water customers can expect about a $1 per month increase in the base rate if a loan is taken out from the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority to cover the cost of building.
