Roswell Firefighters Named Best In Boot Drive
Annual fundraiser on behalf of the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation sees Roswell Fire Department raising most in state.
The RFD earned the Top Collector distinction by the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation during the 2010 Boot Drive, with $80,522.91 collected during the fundraiser, as well as the top spot in the amount of money collected for each department member with an average of $583.50 per firefighter.
“This could not be accomplished without the unselfish and dedicated efforts
of our firefighters and the generosity of the community,” Ricky Spencer, Roswell's fire chief, said. “RFD benefits as well, as ten percent of the money collected in Roswell is returned to be used in our fire prevention activities.”
