Roswell Named PACE Awards Government Champion

The city wins the municipal category.

The Clean Air Campaign recently named the city of Roswell a Government Champion for offering its employees telecommute options, flexible work arrangements/compressed work week and carpool options with designated parking spaces at city facilities.

"The city is proud to be named the PACE recipient for the Government Champions-City Employer award," said Roswell Spokeswoman Kimberly Johnson.

In its eleventh year, the PACE Awards program recognizes the best commute options programs in Georgia, celebrating the success of employers, property managers, schools and individuals in advancing the promise of cleaner air and less traffic.

“The Clean Air Campaign program provides the organization I need to participate in a carpool program,” explains Deputy City Administrator Michael Fischer, who oversees the City’s Sustainability Program. “By logging my trips to and from work on the Clean Air Campaign’s webpage, I can hold myself accountable to participate on a regular basis. It is fun and interesting to see the web stats and how my carpool commute has a great impact on the air quality. It is amazing how one person (or two if you carpool) can make a difference.”

According to Johnson, the city offers employees a variety of clean commute alternatives from compressed work weeks, telework options and carpool parking spaces at city office facilities.
