Roswell Parks a Finalist for Gold Medal

For the third consecutive year, Roswell’s Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department is a finalist for the 2013 National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. 

Roswell has been named among cities with populations of 50,001 to 100,000.

The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration, established the Gold Medal Awards program in 1965 to honor communities with excellence in parks and recreation through planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and agency recognition, says a press release from the City of Roswell.

The three other cities named as finalists in Roswell's class are Allen, TX; Kettering, OH, and Waukegan, IL. The winner will be announced in October.
