Roswell To Move Forward On Houze-Hembree Improvements

The city is slated to construct a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of Houze and Hembree roads.

The Roswell City Council tonight is slated to accept the right-of-way options for an intersection improvement project.

The council, which meets tonight at 7 p.m. at Roswell City Hall, will consider accepting the options for the Houze and Hembree road intersection improvement project in an amount not to exceed $440,000.

The project consists of building a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of Houze Road and Hembree Road. It also consists of a multi-use trail along Hembree that will connect to a trail east of Upper Hembree Road.

A project agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation calls for the agency to cover 100 percent of the design, right-of-way (up to $290,000) and construction (up to $1 million) costs. Any costs that exceed the amount laid out in the agreement will be covered by the city.
