Roswell UDC Work Session Called for Saturday

The Mayor and Council will continue to work through the details of the city's proposed new zoning code.

With the deadline nearing for adoption of the proposed Unified Development Code, the Roswell Mayor and Council will be holding an all-day work session Saturday.

Yes, you read that right. All day. Saturday

Oh, and the weather is expected to be gorgeous.

But plenty of work remains for the council as it hammers out the details of the UDC overhaul, which is expected to be adopted in December.

By October 15, the Roswell Planning Commission is set to offer its recommendation.

In late October, the Mayor and Council is slated to accept a draft, with first of the ordinance and map scheduled for November 13.

Second reading and final adoption is scheduled for December 9.

Saturday's work session is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 220 of City Hall, 38 Hill St.

You might want to bring a sack lunch.

On Monday, the Mayor and Council will have an Open Forum meeting for the public to comment on any topic, and the UDC is expected to be among the prominent issues raised by citizens.

That meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers of City Hall.
