Roswell, Fulton Warn of Utility Services Scam

A man is demanding water and sanitation service payments from local residents.

Similar to the recent Ga 400 phone scam, some Roswell residents say a man presenting himself as a city employee or a Fulton County Water & Sewer billing agent is demanding payment for water and sanitation services - or else.

The suspect, who gives a city badge number of no. 572113, has told residents if they don't make a payment over the phone, their utilities will be turned off Monday morning.

The caller ID shows up as "Private Name," according to the city.

"This individual is not a representative from the city of Roswell," said a recent statement from the city.

According to the county, their billing department does not accept any form of payment by phone or even contact water and sewer customers during the evening.
