Sandra Deal To Visit Roswell's Waller Park Recreation Center

Georgia's First Lady will visit Roswell's Waller Park Recreation Center to highlight the state's Summer Food Service Program.

Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal will make a stop in Roswell next week.

Deal on Tuesday, July 29 will visit Roswell's Waller Park Recreation Center to help bring attention to the state’s Summer Food Service Program. The program ensures that low-income children have access to nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Deal will be arriving around 8 a.m. to have breakfast with children attending Waller Park Day Camp. She also plans to read a story to the children and take a brief tour of the facility.

The SFSP fills this gap, and parents benefit from some help in stretching their food dollars and by knowing that their children are receiving healthy meals in a supportive environment. The program is administered by Bright from the Start, with federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Waller Park Recreation Center is located at 250 Oak Street in Roswell. The Center is part of the Roswell’s award-winning Recreation and Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department, which provides quality, comprehensive recreational and cultural opportunities, parks, and facilities to the Roswell community.
