Wynn Pursues Roswell Post 2 Reelection to Improve Services, Continue 'Momentum"

Councilwoman Becky Wynn will run against local residents, Lee Fleck, Adam Braund, Salma Ahmed and Michael Martin.

For Roswell City Councilwoman Becky Wynn, the time she has spent in service to the city since she was first elected in 2007 isn't an obligation; it's personal. That is why she has decided to run for reelection for the Post 2 council seat.

"The city council has made good progress in improving our infrastructure, making fiscally conservative choices and improving services," she said. "And I will continue that momentum."

The friendships she has forged within the city are part of what's so personal about her position on the council for Wynn; as are each of the resolutions and ordinances she has been instrumental in passing, such as the stormwater ordinance and utility fee that allows the city to update its stormwater system and is concurrent with the reduction in the solid waste fee.

She has years of varying experience on regional boards and with community organizations, including the Roswell Design Review Board, former Fulton County Commissioner Lynne Riley’s Water Reuse Task Force and Mayor Jere Wood’s International Cooperation Committee. She also crafted state legislation enabling the creation of code enforcement boards and, subsequently, served as chair of the Fulton County Code Enforcement Board. Additionally, Wynn is currently serving on Sen. John Alber’s Education Committee.

I "gained a unique understanding of transportation, zoning and community issues while working with the [Johns Creek Community Association] and Fulton County Commission," she added.

She told Roswell Patch that she believes the above experiences have given her the skills to successfully tackle issues currently impacting Roswell.

Among Wynn's top priorities for the city of Roswell:

  • 2030 Comprehensive Plan. Roswell is moving forward to implement the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, which includes infrastructure and transportation.
  • Revitalization. The recommendations from the Strategic Economic Development Advisory Committee will focus on revitalizing projected areas, bringing in new businesses, retaining existing businesses and enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Roswell.

"It is imperative at this crucial fork in the road that we have elected officials who understand the above initiatives to establish solid foundations that will make Roswell an even better place to live, work and raise our families," said Wynn.

Wynn and her husband, Mike, have been married for 38 years. They've lived in the North Fulton area since 1994; and within Roswell since 2004. The couple - who have a rescue dog named, Annie - love the small town feel of the city and look forward to events throughout the year, such as the fireworks display on July 4th, as well as the lighting of the Town Square in December.
