Bank of North Georgia Awards 2011 Scholarship to Roswell Student

The Synovus bank recently announced its 2011 Jack Parker Scholarship recipients, which included Roswell High School graduate Alicia Muzzy.

The Synovus Mortgage Corporation and its subsidiary, the , recently announced the local winners of the 2011 Jack Parker Scholarship, including Alicia Muzzy from Roswell High School. 

Muzzy, a Roswell graduate, is the daughter of Lauren Muzzy, communications manager for Bank of North Georgia. She plans on attending the University of Georgia in the fall to study journalism and international business and marketing.

The scholarships are awarded to children of Synovus team members and funded through employee donations and internal fundraising activities. This year the program, which is named for Jack B. Parker, Synovus employee of 44 years, totaled $136,000 among 124 students.

Students who receive the scholarships are chosen for their academic excellence, demonstrated leadership and for being involved in activities to improve their communities. Since the program's inception in 1988, the foundation has awarded almost $2 million in scholarships.

Among the recipients, 13 students of Bank of North Georgia and 1 student of Synovus Mortgage Corp. team members were awarded scholarships for 2011.

Other metro area scholarship winners include: Sarah Erwin of Woodstock, Ricchedia Brown of Riverdale, Jeremy Buentello of Peachtree City, Robert Garcia of Marietta, Megan Green of Atlanta, Andrew Harmeier of Atlanta, Emily Harmeier of Atlanta, Margot Hillyer of Dunwoody, Robert (Robbie) Hope, Jr. of Norcross, Kaitlyn Hyde of Cumming, Parker Hyde of Cumming, Robert Llaurador of Atlanta, Allie Mikle of Stone Mountain.
