Centennial Boys Soccer Team Heads to Collins Hill for State Championship

The team plays in Suwanee on Friday, May 18, at 8 p.m.

The boys soccer team will travel to Collins Hill in Suwanee Friday, May 18, to play for the 2012 state championship.

It's a hard-faught honor for the team, which won their game against Parkview High School on Tuesday night 5-1. The Knights scored twice off throw-ins and twice on corner kicks, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The school website says the win was inevitable "right from the opening whistle," with skilled playing by the Knights dominating the game. The last time Centennial faced Collins Hill in the finals was during 2009, when several current seniors were freshman, according to the website. They lost the game 1-0, but hope to make up for it tomorrow night.
