Centennial Students Build Computers, Donate

Centennial High School students helped to make this holiday season a little better through the donation of computers to needy families.

Students in the computer class at students built computers as a culminating project for the class, this past semester.

As a way to give back during this time of year, students decided to donate their hard earned efforts to people in need. They contacted to see if the organization knew of anyone who could benefit from the computers. The answer was: yes.

Director of Development for North Fulton Charities, Vonda Malbrough, came to Centennial to accept the computer donations in early December.

“If it were not for your efforts some families would not have computers at all," Malbrough told the students. "You should be very proud for what you have been able to do for the families of North Fulton. “

This was the first time most of the students had built a computer from scratch. The computer class taught them how to handle and install each component. Students knew from the beginning of the project they wanted to donate the finished products and used it as motivation to do a good job.

“I’m really glad that we will be able to donate these computers to families that can use them," said a student.
