Student representatives from Centennial’s Model UN explained that while winning awards is certainly a testament to the team’s passion, focus and synergy as a group, their true motivators are "building skills and finding true, meaningful solutions."

Model UNs are academic simulations of the United Nations, in which students role-play as delegates. In this process, students learn about current events, international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations’ agenda. Participation also helps them develop skills in public speaking, research, negotiation and consensus-building while building personal confidence.
