Crabapple Middle School Dads Club Holds Tailgate

The group has about 130 members currently.

Who says getting involved at school is for moms only? At Crabapple Middle School, the Dads Club is setting stereotypes aside, rolling up their sleeves and getting involved with their children’s school.

To celebrate (and perhaps recruit), the CMS Dads Club held their second annual tailgate at the Roswell High School football game versus Cherokee on Friday night, Oct., 26. Fred Barth, Rich Barrett, and Barney Bucy, Dads Club president, grilled hot dogs and burgers while the kids played. The tailgate was followed by a win for the RHS Hornets making it a great day for CMS Dads and their families.

“It’s great to be part of the community. Dads Club gives me a way to stay involved,” said Barth, CMS father and chief grill master at the tailgate.

Dads help out by serving as hall monitors, carpool attendants, campus beautification projects, and general handy man chores.  So far, they have about 130 members and are growing each year.
