Roswell Area Cub Scouts Beautify Roswell Schools

Volunteers pitched in to help the pack clean up Hembree Springs and Elkins Pointe recently.

The grounds of Hembree Springs Elementary School received a facelift on Saturday, Nov. 10.

About 35 children and 20 adults from Cub Scout Pack 985 donated more than 120 work hours and 60 bales of pine-straw to the beautification project. Along with adult helpers, siblings, and friends the Cub Scouts, made up of students from Hembree Springs ES, spent their Saturday morning cleaning, weeding, trimming, and spreading pine-straw on the grounds of Hembree Springs Elementary School.

Their effort was coordinated with the Elkins Point Middle School Dad's Club beautification project. Between Hembree Springs ES and Elkins Point MS several 30-gallon bags of trash were also collected. The primary area of focus for the Hembree Springs beautification was around the front entrance and nature island in front of the school.
