The meeting leads up to the $913 million SPLOST referendum renewal vote on Nov. 8. If approved, the sales tax will continue for another five years at the same rate it has been since 1997. Fulton County Schools maintains that the special tax helps keep property taxes down, since the system would have to issue bonds for capital improvements without it. If the SPLOST is not given an approval vote in Novemember, it will expire June 30, 2012.

The meeting will take place tonight, Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Roswell City Hall Council Chambers. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
