Elkins Pointe Begins Principal Selection Process

The process to select Principal Jerome Huff's replacement gets underway.

Since current Elkins Pointe Middle School Principal Jerome Huff will be taking over for Roswell High School Principal Ed Spurka when he moves over to the new Bethany Bend high school being built in Milton, the process to replace Huff is underway.

"I wanted to keep everyone updated on the principal selection committee to select the next principal of Elkins Pointe Middle School," Huff wrote in a memo sent out in the EPMS newsletter.

According to Huff, interviews for the position will take place on April 22, but the committee to select qualified applicants is currently being put in place. The committee will include the school's parent/teacher association president, the local school advisory committee chairperson, two Elkins Pointe teachers, a local middle school principal, a representative from Fulton County Schools human resources department, Fulton County Deputy Superintendent Dr. Linda Anderson and Roswell Cluster Superintendent Dr. Will Rumbaugh.

But, the county also wants input from Elkins Pointe parents as well. They issued an online survey, which will be available today, Mar. 9-18.

"After the completed interviews, the top two or three candidates' names will be given to [Fulton County Schools Superintendent] Dr. Cindy Loe and she will make the final decision," he wrote.
