Proper Pruning of Shrubs and Roses

As part of a series of free gardening seminars offered by The UGA Cooperative Extension in Fulton County and North Fulton Master Gardeners, Proper Pruning of Shrubs and Roses” will be offered at the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building in Roswell Area Park.

While many shrubs have already flowered at this time and others (like roses) will bloom again, all need to be prepared for Atlanta’s summer heat and possible lack of rain. For those who want to learn tips and techniques to help their shrubs and roses look their best, the UGA Cooperative Extension in Fulton County and North Fulton Master Gardeners will present a free class: “Maintaining and Pruning Shrubs and Roses.” This free workshop will cover: What to do if your shrubs have grown too large for their current location, how your shrubs are doing and what to look for, mulching, weed control, watering, fertilizing and pest control, pruning, and additional resources. The classes are free, but pre-registration is required.

For more information and to register, visit http://www.roswellgov.com/or stop by the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building at Roswell Area Park. For questions regarding on-line registration, please call 770-641-3760 or e-mail recweb@roswellgov.com.
