Fellowship Christian Loses to King's Ridge

Palladins lose to Region 5-A rival, 20-9

The Fellowship Christian Palladins baseball team lost to the King's Ridge Tigers 20-9 on Tuesday in a game in which play was halted by Canadian Geese and which was eventually called due to darkness.

The game opened with the Tigers and the Palladins both scoring 3 runs in the first inning.  The Palladins then took an early lead in the second inning, going up 5-3, but King's Ridge came back in the third, posting 3 runs of its own and taking the lead, 6-3.

From that point, King's Ridge took control of the game and never looked back.  The Tigers, led by Patrick McClure's three RBI double, picked up an additional seven runs in the fourth inning.

Fellowship Christian scored in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, but was unable to keep pace with the Tigers run production.

Play was temporarily halted in the bottom of the sixth inning when three Canadian Geese landed in left field, apparently with the intention of staying put.  The Tiger's left fielder, Jackson Weldon, managed to convince the birds to leave and play resumed, only to be halted in the top of the seventh inning due to darkness.

King's Ridge starting pitcher Jeff Sneed picked up the win.

Fellowship Christian goes to 6-6 on the season and 1-2 in Region 5-A.
