Fellowship Christian Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian

Alex Spiegel has earned the title of valedictorian while Roger Rickman will serve as salutatorian for the class of 2014.

Fellowship Christian School student Alex Spiegel has earned the distinction of class valedictorian while Roger Rickman has earned salutatorian honors for the class of 2014.  

Spiegel accumulated a 4.4386 GPA and a 103.4035 numeric average.  He graduates from Fellowship with numerous honors and awards, including recognition as a 2014 National Merit Commended Student, AP Scholar with Distinction, ACSI Distinguished Christian High School Student, Georgia Certificate of Merit Award winner, Wofford Scholar Program designee, Presbyterian College Academic Achievement Award recipient, FCS High Honor Roll and the Gardner Webb University Junior Scholar award.

Spiegel’s experiences have taken him to the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory of Music as a participant in the Achievement Program where he reached level nine with honors. Spiegel played keyboard as a member of the high school praise band, played JV and varsity basketball, and served as coach of the school’s fifth grade basketball team. He was inducted into the Spanish Honor Society, Beta Club and National Honor Society. 

Spiegel has also been recognized for academic achievement as the Newton Scholar in Mathemetics, receipient of the Cervantes Spanish Scholar, and winner of the John Dalton Chemistry Award. Spiegel also attended Georgia Boys State in 2013.

Rickman graduates from Fellowship with a 101.96 numeric average.  His recognitions include ACSI Distinguished High School Student Award, AP Scholar with Honors Award, Georgia Certificate of Merit winner, 2014 National Merit Commended Scholar, STAR Student Award (top SAT score in class), Presbyterian College Fellows Scholar, Furman University Scholar and FCS High Honor Roll. 

Rickman’s athletic accomplishments include three-time varsity basketball MVP, two-time 6A all-region basketball team, 2014 Naismith Awards Flourish Scholarship winner, XL 212 Academic Athlete of the Year Award for North Fulton/Forsyth, and all-state honors in the high jump.  

Rickman assumed leadership roles in the Spanish Honor Society, National Beta Club, and National Honor Society, and served as coach of the school’s 6th grade basketball team. He has been an active volunteer in the Roswell community, serving at local nursing homes and performing in the First Baptist Church of Woodstock’s Adult Orchestra. Rickman also attended Georgia Boys State in 2013.

Spiegel will enter the University of Virginia in the fall with plans to pursue a degree in the field of business.

Rickman will attend Troy University on an academic scholarship where he plans to study economics in preparation for a career in finance.
