Former Governor Barnes Addresses Centennial Students

Former Georgia Governor Roy Barnes spoke at a recent Career Technology Students Organization (CTSO) meeting at the local high school.

Governor Roy E. Barnes recently visited to give the keynote address for the Career Technology Students Organization (CTSO) meeting, discussing the link between business and government and how these two entities must work together to provide a prosperous economic future for the state of Georgia.

The governor stressed the need for schools to produce graduates who possess the skills necessary to fulfill future job requirements. According to Governor Barnes, “Students should focus on their intellectual capital to ensure that they are marketable in the global economy.”

Centennial High School’s CTSO consist of several student organizations such as Skills USA, Technology Student Association, Health Occupations Student Organization, and the Future Business Leaders of America. These organizations help students develop the skills and strong leadership traits that can lead to successful careers in a variety of fields. The CTSO offers monthly meetings to its members and they actively seek leaders in business, politics and government to come and speak at their monthly meetings.
