Fulton Schools Take Part in Heart Walk

District employees and their families will be gathering at Atlantic Station Saturday morning.

From the Fulton County School System:

Tomorrow morning, hundreds of Fulton County Schools employees and their families will join others across Atlanta for the 2013 Metro Atlanta Heart Walk. The annual event, held this year at Atlantic Station, raises money for cardiovascular disease and stroke research.

“Many of us have loved ones whose health and lives have been impacted by heart disease or a stroke. For me, it’s my grandmother,” said Superintendent Robert Avossa. “It’s important that we, as a Fulton family, do what we can to raise awareness and help the American Heart Association raise much-needed funds for research.”

Collectively, Fulton County Schools aimed to raise $10,000 for the American Heart Association. Although tallies are not yet complete, the district has surpassed its fund raising goal.

“Team Fulton” will gather at the Atlantic Station Publix at 7:45 a.m. The event formally kicks off at 8:15 a.m.
