Hembree Springs Hosts First 5K

hosted over 450 runners in its first annual Hembree Runs Wild 5k and 1k Race. 

The community event surpassed all expectations as students and families came from all over the metro area, including neighboring elementary schools. Participants were treated to goodies supplied by many local businesses who supported the event. A free festival followed in which many of the families participated and had a wonderful time.  

"This is the first time my daughter and I have run a 5k together and she says she can’t wait to do it again," said HSES parent Susan Rickson.

The Hembree Springs PTA sponsored the event to kick off the Hembree Springs Running Club and support healthy lifestyles for students and the community.
