High Meadows Students Investigate Homelessness

As part of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, students made presentations on the subject of homelessness, Monday, May 21.

As fifth graders complete their International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, they have the unique opportunity to create their own final unit of inquiry to explore and this year they chose homelessness.

Focused on the central idea that shelter is a basic need and we have a responsibility to protect the availability of shelter for all living things, students made their final project presentations, Monday, May 21.

The final project gives students the chance to highlight the skills and attitudes they have developed over the years, to lead their own investigation into a relevant and significant global problem, as well as offer solutions. Exhibition Night allows students to present what they have discovered, using a wide variety of presentation formats.
