Milton Defeats Roswell in Lacrosse Matchup

Hornets lose to Region 3AAAAA rivals 16-9

The Roswell Hornets boys lacrosse team were scheduled to host the Milton Eagles on Wednesday, but poor field conditions due to the recent rains forced the game to be relocated to Milton's stadium.  The Eagles took advantage of their unexpected home field advantage to hand the Hornets a 16-9 loss.

The Hornets managed to stay close to the defending state champion Milton Eagles in the first quarter, putting in three goals to Milton's four.  But the tempo of the game changed significantly in the second period when the Eagles scored six goals in the span of only two minutes and fourteen seconds, allowing the Eagles to take an 11-6 goal lead into halftime.

Milton outscored Roswell in the third period, three to two, increasing their lead to 14-8 by the end of the quarter.  The Eagles picked up two additional goals in the final period of play to Roswell's one.
