North Fulton AAUW Offers Scholarships to Local Students

Students who qualify have until April 15 to apply.

The North Fulton Branch of the American Association of University Women has announced its that it will grant $3,000 scholarships to two qualified applicants for the 2012-2013 school year.

The money can be used for school-related purposes, like tuition, fees, books and other expenses. The AAUW requires that applicants fulfill certain criteria, including:

  • A female student, 22 years of age or older, resident in the state of Georgia
  • In good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the previous year
  • Graduate or undergraduate students pursuing a degree or certification, and enrolling in a minimum of six credit hours of classes in both semesters of AY 2012-2013
  • Undergraduates must have completed sufficient hours to be considered sophomores
  • Be enrolled at the North Fulton campuses of one of the following institutions: Reinhardt University, Georgia State University, or Georgia Perimeter College
  • Finalists must attend a personal interview with the committee

The application can be found online and the deadline is April 15. Finalists will be interviewed in May and the scholarships winners will be announced shortly afterwards.

Funding for these scholarships is obtained solely through AAUW members’ volunteer efforts and the proceeds they earn at AAUW’s Annual Bookfair held in the early fall at Perimeter Mall.
