Roswell High to Hold 'It Can Wait' Rally

State Sen. John Albers is the featured speaker at Thursday's event designed to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving.

State Sen. John Albers (R-Roswell) will speak at the “It Can Wait” Drive 4 Pledges Day at Roswell High School on Thursday, September, 19 at 11 a.m.

The “It Can Wait” campaign seeks to raise awareness of the dangers associated with distracted driving and prevent texting behind the wheel.

Sponsored by AT&T, this event will encourage teens to make a commitment to not text while driving by taking the “It Can Wait” pledge. This event will also feature a “texting while driving” simulation and speakers from Georgia’s public safety community, AT&T and local education and county officials.

After the assembly students will be going to the football field during their lunch periods to give the texting and driving simulators a try. They will also have paperwork so the students can sign pledges not to text and drive.

"It Can Wait" is a partnership between the Roswell High School, AT&T and the Roswell Police Department.
