Over 70 fathers and male role models attended breakfast at school with their students during the River Eves PTA third annual “Calling All Dads” breakfast, Friday, Sept. 9 - marking the largest turn out to date.

“We are really pleased at the turnout and commitment of our fathers and male role models at our school; and particularly, the positive impact that will have on our students,” said Principal Neil Pinnock.

Fathers attending the event learned about an ever-growing program of activities that center on involving fathers in the academic lives of their children.

“Supporting the Boosterthon Fun Run and our Dad-Student Landscaping Days hit the jack pot for male volunteers in October,” said Preston Shirmeyer, River Eves dad and program chair for the "Calling All Dads" program.  “It’s really rewarding to see how much enjoyment the kids get just from having their Dad with them at school for these activities."
