Roswell Lady Hornets Defeat Berkmar in State AAAAA Basketball Tournament
Advance to play North Gwinnett in second round
The Roswell Lady Hornets hosted the Berkmar Patriots in the first round of the Georgia AAAAA State Basketball Tournament on Friday and came away with a 46-33 victory.
Roswell controlled the first half of the game, posting a 19-6 lead at the end of the first period and going to the locker room with a 30-12 advantage at halftime.
The Patriots managed to generate more offense in the second half, outscoring Roswell in both the third and fourth quarters, but it was too little, too late as Roswell's lead proved to be more than Berkmar could overcome.
Roswell now advances to the second round of the tournament where they will host the North Gwinnett Lady Bulldogs on March 1.
