Roswell North Holds Annual 'Artist Day'

It's the 20th year for the annual event at the local elementary school.

will again host Artist Day tomorrow, Friday, April 27, for its more than 1,000 students.

This is the 20th anniversary of the event, which features 18 artists from around the state teaching 45 minute mini-hands-on arts classes throughout the school.  Each student will attend nine mini classes during the day featuring artists teaching painting, ballroom dancing, pottery, drawing, storytelling, glass blowing and more.

As arts funding has dwindled in past years and field trips to local museums, theatres and arts workshops are virtually vanishing as well, the Artist Day event has become even more integral in local children’s educational experience. Founded and sponsored by the Roswell North PTA, this event has carried on for 20 years as because of the PTAs belief in the importance of exposing children to fine arts.
