Roswell North Samples 'Book Tasting'

Students were served up reading delights during the school's second annual event this week.

Thanks to Kellie Pelletier from Roswell North Elementary School for sending along this information and photo from its Book Tasting Thursday and Friday:

Roswell North Elementary inspired 5th graders to sample new books during the school's 2nd Annual Booking Tasting event this week.

The event, held at the RNE Media Café, introduced hungry readers to a 3-course sampling menu of books featuring Small Plates, Full Meal Deals and Fabulous Finishes.  Each course was paired with the joy of discovering a favorite new book or author.

RNE Media Specialist Martha Powell hand selected the books featured on the tasting menu with the finicky 5th grade palate in mind. Each child sampled a book for three-four minutes before passing it along to another diner.

The kids made notes on their individual menus and selected favorites to check out at a later date or to add to their "Want to Read Shelf" on Destiny Quest.

Roswell North Elementary Students are known as avid readers. The school once again had the highest participation in the Roswell Public Library summer reading program.

Sean R: "I loved the Antarctic "choose your own adventure" book!  It was so 'cool'!

Get it!"

Skylar: "Book tasting was so fun. I wish I could DO IT EVERY SINGLE DAY!
