Roswell School Named to SHAPE Honor Roll

Holcomb Bridge Middle School was cited by the Governor's office for programs to boost physical fitness, wellness and nutrition.

For the second year in a row, Holcomb Bridge Middle School has been named to the Georgia SHAPE Honor Roll.

The Roswell school has been recognized by the office of Gov. Nathan Deal for its participation in the SHAPE program, which calls on teachers, schools and students to help combat childhood obesity.

The program challenges schools to make improvements based on three main criteria: physical activity, nutrition and wellness.

“Students do better in school when they are healthy,” Fulton County School System Superintendent Robert Avossa said in a statement. “The Georgia SHAPE Honor Roll program aims to keep our kids’ bodies strong so their minds can learn and perform at their best.”
