Roswell Schools Receive AP Teaching Grants

Centennial and Roswell high schools each receive AP teacher training grants.

Roswell and Centennial high schools have each recently received AP Teacher Training Grant awards. Centennial received $1,400, while Roswell received $800.

The schools were among 14 in Fulton to receive almost $18,000 overall, according to a press release from Fulton County Schools, for the training at 2013 Advanced Placement Summer Institutes, which provide teachers with the support needed to teach the courses.

Alpharetta, Banneker, Cambridge, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek, Langston Hughes, North Springs, Northview, Riverwood and Westlake high schools also each received $1,400; while Creekside and Milton high schools each received $800.

The grants come courtesy of the the Georgia Department of Education, which is giving the Fulton County School System overall more than $3 million to promote literacy and professional development.
