Schools Announce Make-up Days

Students will go to class on March 11 and April 22 to make up the days they missed last week.

The Fulton County School System has announced two make-up days for students and teaching staff due to last week's weather closings that forced students to miss five days of school.  Teachers will make up additional workdays.

The two days for students will be Friday, March 11, which was set aside as a teacher workday, and Friday, April 22, which originally was a day off for both students and teachers, according to the Fulton County school system's website.

State board of education rules allow forgiveness for up to four weather days. However, six school days have been canceled this school year – five last week due to the snow and ice, and one in December due to icy roads, leaving two days that must be made up.

Teachers will have a workday on Monday, Feb. 21, which was previously a student and teacher holiday, and also will work Friday, April 22. Teachers will have two additional post-planning days on June 2-3.

Make-up days for employees under different contracts are still being determined.
