Middle school and adult volleyball players will converge on the new Southern Volleyball Center on the Alpharetta-Roswell border in North Fulton, the center said in a news release this week.
Eight new middle school volleyball feeder programs will begin at the Southern Volleyball Center. Participating high schools are:
Play begins on Aug. 21 with two practices weekly through the end of September. Middle schoolers interested in learning volleyball fundamentals who live in one of these high school attendance zones should visit the center's website page for the feeder program for registration information.
Registration is first-come, first-served. (This is an introductory, no-cut program coached by experienced coaches specializing in this age of player.)
Concurrently, Southern Volleyball Center will be the location for a new Adult Volleyball League on Wednesday nights. The success of adult Friday night open gyms gave rise to this first ever adult league at the center. Adult League play begins Aug. 22 for an eight week session of Co-ed A and B and a Men’s A and B league.

Southern Volleyball Center opened in December 2011 and is a five-court, state-of-the-art, 20,000 square foot volleyball training and competition venue located on the Roswell-Alpharetta border. It serves as the primary training facility for the nationally-renowned A5 Volleyball Club, as well as Volleyperformance, one of the top training companies in the South. The facility can accommodate about 350 players and more than 700 spectators for a tournament and is located at 11415 Old Roswell Road, Suite 200, Alpharetta 30009.
