Centennial Head Football Coach Steps Down

Jeff Measor announced his resignation to school officials before Thanksgiving.

Coach Jeff Measor has stepped down from his position as head football coach.

Measor recently told the Georgia High School Association and school representatives that he would leave his coaching job after five seasons in order to complete a doctorate.

According to Assistant Head Football Coach Jeff Burch, the coaching job has not been "officially" opened, but the school's Athletic Director Phil Thomas has recieved interested in the position from local and regional coaches and will begin the replacement process soon.

"There are no plans on officially opening and advertising the job," Burch told Roswell Patch.

Burch said that other coaches with Centennial's football program will get the opportunity to meet with the new head coach once he's hired and decide if they want to stay on staff.

"Several of the coaches work at Centennial or our feeder schools and do not have plans to leave at this time," he said.

Measor was was 24-26 at Centennial, 5-6 in 2011, according to the Georgia High School Association.
