Criterium to Close Roads, Alter Traffic Sunday

Expect traffic delays Sunday, April 28 for the Annual Mayor's Ride and Historic Roswell Criterium.

Anyone passing through downtown Roswell on Sunday, April 28, is sure to notice some temporary traffic adjustments, courtesy of the Roswell Mayor’s Ride and 12th Annual Historic Roswell Criterium.

Road closures and delays throughout the historic district are expected, according to the city's Cone Zone website.

Kicking off the festivities, the Mayor’s Ride will leave from Roswell Area Park at 8 a.m. and its longest leg isn't expected to return until around 1 p.m. The Criterium will begin at 10 a.m. and run throughout the day in the historic district until 7:30 p.m.

According to the city, the following roads will be affected by the races:

  • SR9/Alpharetta Street will be reduced to one lane southbound from 7:30 a.m. through 9 p.m.
  • Canton Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Norcross from Hwy. 9 to Canton Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Green Street will be closed from 8 a.m. until after 7:30 p.m.
  • Woodstock Road will be closed from approximately 9:40 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Roswell Police will assist motorists in and around the historic district throughout the day. Signs will be posted throughout the city in areas where cyclists are expected to pass through.
