Bats and Karst Conservation: A Modern Day Shift

The Dogwood City Grotto (DCG), a local caving club and chapter member of the National Speleological Society, will be hosting a FREE seminar.  The seminar will include two speakers who will be presenting on various topics as it relates to Bat and Cave Conservation.  Jim Kennedy, a bat biologist with Bat Conservation International, Inc. (BCI) will be highlighting the many achievements and projects this organization has accomplished during its thirty year lifetime.  The second speaker, John Lovaas, President of the Illinois Speleological Survey, will be discussing a recent issue in Wisconsin whereby he and many local cavers were able to impact public decision making which greatly helped to protect bats and cave resources in that State.
