Fellowship Christian School Names Head Varsity Volleyball Coach

Kirbie Kathleen Wallace has been named director of volleyball and head varsity volleyball coach for Fellowship Christian School.

Kirbie Kathleen Wallace of Jonesboro has been named director of volleyball and head varsity volleyball coach for Fellowship Christian School, Athletic Director Bryan Lindner announced today.

“Coach Wallace has a great back ground, and we are blessed to have her join our program,” Lindner said. “Her coaching resume is very strong, which includes valuable experience at both the club and high school levels.”

The Fellowship varsity volleyball team reached the state playoffs for the first time in school history this past fall, hosted the first-ever Region volleyball playoff match since the school joined the GHSA and posted a school-record 25-9 record.

“I am excited to be joining such a great institution like Fellowship,” Wallace said. “I look forward to helping the Lady Paladin program build on the success of last year’s great team, and assist our athletes to grow on and off the court.”

Wallace spent the past four years as director of volleyball for Elite Sports Training in Hampton. A veteran of 12 years in coaching, Wallace served two seasons as head coach of St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, a PK-8 school in Hapeville, from 2012-13. She guided the Eagles to an 18-2 record and a second-place Region finish in 2013, following an 8-10 record in 2012.

In 2011, Wallace was assistant coach for Whitewater High School in Fayetteville and helped the team post a 62-13 record, notch a 3A Region Championship and finish second at the state 3A tourney. As varsity and JV head coach, she helped Mundy’s Mill High School in Fayetteville post its first-ever above.500 varsity record in 2010, just one season following a 0-23 campaign. She also led the school’s JV team to an undefeated season and first-place finish in 4A in 2010.  

From 2007-09, Wallace served as assistant varsity coach and JV head coach at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in Fayetteville, helping the school reach the Region tournament for the first time. 

Wallace also has extensive experience as a head coach at the club level.
