Fellowship Students Qualify For State Meet

Senior Roger Rickman and sophomore Emma Grace Hurley will represent Fellowship Christian School at their respective state competitions in May.

Two Fellowship Christian School students will represent their school at upcoming state track and field competitions next month.

Fellowship Christian School senior Roger Rickman finished third among 16 competitors in the high jump at the sectional meet held on April 26 at Landmark Christian School in Fairburn to qualify for the state meet.

Rickman’s jump was 5-8 to help him advance to the men’s state meet, which will be held May 8-10 at Memorial Stadium at 127 Memorial Drive in Jefferson.

Sophomore Emma Grace Hurley will represent Fellowship in the 1,600- and the 3,200-meter runs at the Women's State Championship Meet, which will be held May 1-3 at Hugh Mills Stadium at 601 North Van Buren Street in Albany. 

Hurley had already qualified for the state meet heading into sectionals. She competed in both events at sectionals.

Other Fellowship athletes competing at sectionals were:

  • Anna Soderlund (shot put and discus)
  • Hunter Bryant (discus)
  • Mitchell Keim (long jump)
  • Reed Kroeber (shot put)
  • Ellen McMickle (high jump)
