Grady Holds Off Blessed Trinity

Titans had their chances in a 14-9 loss.

Grady quarterback Kivon Taylor passed for a touchdown and ran for another as the Grey Knights beat Blessed Trinity 14-9 Friday at Grady Stadium in Atlanta.

Taylor passed 22 yards to Dashawn Benton, who made a leaping catch and got one foot in bounds, in the first quarter, then scored on a 1-yard keeper in the third for Grady (2-0).

Blessed Trinity (1-2) had plenty of chances to win the game. The Titans made three trips inside the 10 in the first three quarters, but came away with just a field goal. Two other drives ended with a fumble and a fourth-down incompletion.

Blessed Trinity pulled to within 14-9 on Chris Dore’s touchdown reception from Spencer McManes with less than four minutes remaining. After missing on a two-point conversion try, Dore recovered the onside kick and the Titans were in business again.

They drove to the Grady 19 before McManes’ pass on 4th down-and-4 was knocked down at the line.
