Hornets Get Stung By Hawks In Second Round

Mill Creek Boys Dominate Roswell in a Lopsided 57-29 Affair.

BRASLETON-----Mill Creek High School senior point guard Brandon Hayman scored 15 points and sophomore shooting guard Trevon Shaw scored 14 to lead the Hawks to a 57-29 victory over the Roswell High School Hornets Wednesday night, in the second round of the Class AAAAA Boys State Basketball Tournament.  The loss ends the Hornets' season at 14-17.

Mill Creek's full court press and defensive pressure disrupted the Hornets' offense all night. By the time the first quarter was over, Mill Creek had a 16-4 lead. Things were not much different in the second quarter as the Hawks continued to force turnovers and disrupt Roswell's offense. By halftime, Mill Creek led 21-10.

Roswell was able to cut the deficit to 25-18 at one point in the second half, but the Hawks used their full court press to force turnovers and turn them into points, increasing their lead and never looking back.
