Learn to Luge at Unique Fantasy Camp

Unique holiday gift idea for thrill seekers.

You’ve seen luge on television; heard about Roswell's Raychel Germaine training to fulfill Olympic dreams. You’ve wondered what it might be like to negotiate the twists and turns of the frozen track at high speeds. You’ve wondered what it’s like to be a world-class athlete, living at the nation’s top training facilities.

USA Luge is excited to offer a few curious and adventurous fans the opportunity to find out during the USA Luge Fantasy Camp. It takes place March 1-4, 2013 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The yearly event is designed to accommodate individuals seeking an exhilarating experience. The Fantasy Camp also provides businesses with a one-of-a-kind opportunity for corporate outings, team-building, congratulating top employees or rewarding loyal customers.

The program, which helps fund the athletes and programs of USA Luge, has been recognized by AOL as one of America’s Top 11 fantasy camp experiences. A portion of the $2,000 registration fee is tax deductible.

Each participant will spend two to three days on ice and receive the full Olympic treatment, with housing provided at the United States Olympic Training Center, just around the corner from USA Luge headquarters.

Instruction includes proper start, steering and racing techniques, with video review of each training session. A strong emphasis is placed on safety. Attendees will be coached by Olympic medalists.

Prior to departure, there is a race and farewell dinner with a fun video review of the camp, attended by all campers and several current members of the U.S. Luge National Team.

Everyone also receives a one-year membership to the U.S. Luge Association.
