Price to Throw Ceremonial 'First Pitch' for Roswell Youth Baseball Association on Saturday

The Roswell Youth Baseball Association kicks off its 2012 season with two opening day weekends.

Anticipating a big season, the Roswell Youth Baseball Association will hold the second of two opening days this Saturday, March 24.

Association board members, coaches, military personnel, business leaders and players are expected to pack Hembree Park to celebrate the "boys of summer" during their spring session. Congressman Tom Price of Roswell will even be on hand to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at 1:30 p.m.

The Roswell Youth Baseball Association is an affiliate of the and is the advisory board for the betterment of the local baseball program. For the 2012 season, more than 1000 children will be playing on almost 100 teams. The league enjoys the support of dozens of local business and families that recognize the importance of youth sports in childhood and community development.Β

Last weekend - with State Senator John Albers on hand to throw out the first pitch - the association honored its youngest players, ranging from 5 to 8 years old. This Saturday, players 9 and 10 years old will be honored.
