River Eves Education Foundation Beach Bash Raises $42K

Community members kicked off their flip flops and raised money for local students!

The River Eves Education Foundation (REEF) 2nd annual spring fundraiser, “The REEF Beach Bash” sold out on Saturday, March 24, 2012, drawing hundreds to the Country Club of Roswell and raising over $42,000 to benefit technology investments at River Eves Elementary School.

Guests enjoyed a night of networking, socializing, dancing and fun, further strengthening the ties in the community, as well as benefiting the school. Teachers from school also attended the party, helping to welcome party-goers and sell raffle tickets. Other teachers donated generously to the Silent Auction with sought-after prizes involving their time—such as a four-student bowling party, “teacher for a day,” “PE coach for the week,” art lessons or an afternoon out, to name a few. Principal Neil Pinnock and his wife Cynthia greeted guests in “aloha” style by putting a lei around their neck and helped run the raffle, announcing all the winning tickets.  Keeping with the beach theme, live entertainment was provided by “Yacht Rock Schooner".

The silent auction drew donations from over 120 local businesses and entrepreneurs. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the community in helping us to improve our school,” said Principal Neil Pinnock. “The success of this event demonstrates the commitment of the local businesses in the community, as well as our many active parents.”
