Roswell Hornets Get Stung in Homecoming Game against West Forsyth

The Roswell Hornets varsity football team has yet to break their 0-9 losing streak this season.

The Roswell Hornets suffered a hard loss during last night's homecoming game against the West Forsyth Wolverines, 35-14.

The Hornets started losing a grip on the game only a minute after it begun. West Forsyth scored the first touchdown and extra-point of the game 40 seconds into the first quarter. Despite getting scored on first, the Hornets managed to fight their way back and score the tying touchdown and the extra-point, ending the first half evenly at 7-7.

Just when the Hornets got back in the game, the Wolverines scored again only four seconds into the second quarter. The two teams battled it out until tight end Ty Anderson of the Wolverines scored the third touchdown for West Forsyth, with three minutes and thirty seconds remaining in the second half, making the score 20-7. With a successful extra-point from West Forsyth, the score briefly stood at 21-7 before they scored again only one minute later. The next touchdown by the Wolverines was led by senior split end Graham Bunting and with the extra-point the Wolverines led the game 28-7 at the end of the first half.

As the second half started off, Roswell Junior Corey Wilson, number 24, managed to score a touchdown for the Hornets, making the score 28-14. The Hornets and Wolverines fought throughout the second half and managed to keep the ball out of either end zone. As the game started winding to an end the West Forsyth Wolverines managed to pull off another touchdown with only 35 seconds left in the game. West Forsyth scored, making the final score of the intense game, 35-14.

Both teams left their hearts out on the field and gave the fans a great show. With the Hornets coming up short in this game, one can only hope for a better game next week. With only one game remaining for the Roswell Hornets, this wil be their last chance to redeem themselves for the losses of this season.Β
